Evaluation principles
More than £300 billion is spent globally on leadership development each year. Yet many programmes still rely on quick surveys or headline figures to judge success.
That only scratches the surface.
We believe effective evaluation is essential. It helps participants turn learning into lasting practice, and strengthens an organisation’s capacity to develop leadership in the long term.
Our approach is guided by four principles:
Usable evaluation
Our evaluations guide decisions for partners, faculty, and participants.
Mixed methods
We combine qualitative and quantitative methods to build a clearer picture of impact.
Longitudinal data collection
We track impact over time to capture lasting change.
Embedded in programme design
We design programmes with evaluation built in from the outset.
Bespoke evaluations
As well as evaluating our own programmes, we evaluate local, national and international leadership development programmes.
Every evaluation is tailored to the needs and context of the programme.
We use a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. These may include needs analysis, start-to-finish reviews, post-programme evaluations, interviews, focus groups, and survey design.
Evaluation lifecycle
Building evaluation into each stage of a programme helps learning stick, shapes behaviour,
and supports lasting organisational change.
Co-design
Align programme goals, content, and evaluation.
Live
feedback
Use real-time feedback to adapt and improve
Post-programme impact
Track behaviour change and application of learning.
Long-term follow-up
Assess long-term results for individuals and organisations.
